Change your Instagram password
If you're logged out of your account and can't remember your password, you can request to reset it from the login screen.
If you're able to log into your account and know your current password, you can change it from your Settings:
Instagram app for Android and iPhone
  1. Tap profile or your profile picture in the bottom right to go to your profile.
  2. Tap more options in the top right.
  3. Tap Accounts Center, then tap Password and security.
  4. Tap Change password, then tap the account you'd like to change your password.
  5. Enter your current password and then enter your new password.
  6. Re-type your new password and then tap Change password.
Instagram Lite app for Android
  1. Tap profile or your profile picture in the bottom right to go to your profile.
  2. Tap more options in the top right, then tap settingsSettings.
  3. Tap Security, then tap Password.
  4. Enter your current password and then enter your new password.
  5. Enter your new password again and tap Done.

  2. Tap settings in the top left.
  3. Tap Accounts Center, then tap Password and security.
  4. Tap Change password, then tap the account you'd like to change your password.
  5. Enter your current password and then enter your new password.
  6. Re-type your new password, then tap Change password.

  1. Click menuMore in the bottom left, then click Settingssettings.
  2. Click Accounts Center, then click Password and security.
  3. Click Change password, then click the account you'd like to change your password.
  4. Enter your current password and then enter your new password.
  5. Re-type your new password, then click Change password.
Tip: To create a strong password, use a combination of at least 6 numbers, letters and punctuation marks (like ! and %).
