Using stickers on Instagram
This feature may be unavailable in Japan and for countries located in Europe.
If you're not seeing certain stickers on Instagram, make sure your app is updated to the latest version by visiting the App Store or Google Play Store. Keep in mind that not all stickers are available to everyone or available for reels.
When you share a photo or video to your story or record a reel, you can add stickers by tapping stickers at the top. From there, you can select a sticker.
Add yours
Write a prompt for others to share their own stories or reels about any topic you want or tap random at the bottom for suggested prompts, then tap Done in the top right.
  • Stories: When viewing a story with this sticker, tap camera on the sticker to add your own story. You can tap the prompt to see the stories others have added to the sticker. When viewing your own story with this sticker, tap more actions (iPhone) ormore actions (Android) at the top to see more options for managing your sticker like turning off notifications or hiding your username from the Started by credit.
  • Reels: When viewing a reel with this sticker, tap camera on the sticker to add your own reel. You can tap the prompt to see the reels others have added to the sticker. When viewing your own reel with with this sticker, tap more actions (iPhone) ormore actions (Android) at the top to see more options for managing your sticker like turning off notifications or hiding your username from the Started by credit.

Captions
Automatically transcribes your video's audio. Tap the transcript and tap the color picker at the top to edit the color or tap the options at the bottom to edit the font. Tap the transcript twice, then tap a word to edit it.
Countdown
Enter a countdown name and set a date and time you want your countdown to end. Tap the color picker at the top to edit the color. Anyone who can see your story can tap the arrow in the corner of the countdown to remind them or share your countdown to their story. When your countdown ends, you and everyone who turned on reminders for your countdown will receive a notification.
Current time or weather
These stickers are based on information from your device and your current location. Tap the sticker to change the design.
Cutouts
You can create your own stickers on Instagram with Cutouts. Cutouts helps you make more unique reels and stories by allowing you to create custom stickers from your own photos in your camera roll, or from eligible images you see on Instagram.
Donation
Select the nonprofit you want to raise money for and customize the name of your fundraiser. Anyone who can see your story can tap Donate to donate to your selected nonprofit. Swipe up on your own story to see the total amount raised and donations by username.
Gif
Select a trending gif or search for one at the top.
Hashtag
Enter the hashtag you want to include in your story. Anyone who can see your story can tap it to view the page for that hashtag.
Link
Enter the URL you want the sticker to link to. Tap See Preview below the link to see what the link will look like when someone opens it. Anyone who can see your story can tap the sticker to visit the link.
Location
Select a nearby location or search for one at the top. Anyone who can see your story can tap the sticker and view the page for that location.
Mention
Enter the username of the account you want to mention. Their username will appear in your story with an underline. Anyone who can see your story can tap it to go to their profile.
Music
Select a song or search for one at the top. If lyrics are available for the song you select, you can choose different fonts and designs for them, and you can edit which part of the song you want to play. Anyone who can see your story can tap the lyrics to learn more about the artist or listen to more of the song.
Poll sticker or emoji slider
Write your own question and customize the answers. Anyone who can see your story or reel can tap an option in the poll or slide the emoji you've chosen. Once posted, people can vote and see realtime results. Swipe up on your own story or reel to see how many votes each option received and how each person voted.
Product sticker
Tag products sold by shops by adding a Product sticker to your story. Anyone who can see your story can tap the sticker and view tagged products. Learn how to tag products in your stories.
Questions
  • Stories: Write your own question and customize the type of answers. Select to let people type a response to your question or tap to let people send you a song. Anyone who can see your story can tap the sticker and send you a response. To see who responded, swipe up on your own story. Tap a response from someone to share it. Their photo and username won't be shown.
  • Reels: Write your own question for a sticker that will show on your reel. People can respond to the sticker by tapping the Type something. Their responses will show as replies to the sticker where anyone who can see the reel can see the reply. If your account is public, people can also create reels that include your response.
Quiz
Write your own multiple-choice question and customize the answers. Anyone who can see your story can respond by tapping an option you've provided. Once posted, people can vote and learn whether they got it right. Swipe up on your own story to see how many votes each option received and how each person voted.
Selfie
Tap to take a selfie. Tap your selfie to change the frame.
