Save a post as a draft on Instagram
Drafts are saved onto your device. You won’t be able to access a saved draft from another device, even if you log in to your account. If you uninstall the app, your drafts will be lost.
Once you start creating a post, you can save it as a draft and share it later.
To save your post as a draft:

  1. At the top, tap then scroll to Post at the bottom:
    • To upload a photo from your phone's library, select the photo you'd like to share.
    • To take a new photo, tap search with your camera above Camera. You can tap to switch between front and rear-facing cameras and to adjust flash.
  2. Tap , then add effects, filters, a caption or your location.
  3. Tap back twice in the top left.
  4. Select Save draft.
Instagram app for iPhone
  1. At the top, tap then tap Post:
    • To upload a photo from your phone's library, select the photo you'd like to share.
    • To take a new photo, tap . You can tap to switch between front and rear-facing cameras and to adjust flash.
  2. Tap Next, then add effects, filters, a caption or your location.
  3. Tap back twice in the top left.
  4. Select Save Draft.
Note: If you don't edit the post, tag people or add a caption or location, you won't be able to save the post as a draft.
To see your saved drafts:

  1. Tap at the top.
  2. Tap Post.
  3. Tap Drafts below the post or video, then tap the draft you want to post.
