Instagram badges let you earn money when you go Live. Badges will appear next to a person’s Instagram username throughout the Live video. Fans who have purchased badges in Live will stand out in the comments and unlock additional features, including placement on a creator's list of badge holders and access to a special heart during the Live. During this testing period, Instagram’s revenue share will be 0%. Google and Apple collect 30% in fees for in-app purchases.
In order to get paid from badge purchases, you’ll need to set up a payout account. You’ll be asked to provide information such as your name, business information, and a payout method.
Once you’ve set up your payout account, you’ll be able to track your status and estimated earnings in the Badges tab in Settings.
To use badges, you must:
- Be 18 years or older
- Use a creator or business account
- Meet our Partner Monetization Policies
You will receive your badge payouts once a month after you cross the minimum balance of $100. Funds are calculated at the end of each month and paid out approximately 30 days later, usually in the first week of the following month.
Payments are transferred to the payout account you provided when you enabled badges for your account.
If your accumulated balance for badges is below $100 at the end of a month, it will be carried over to the next month until it passes the $100 threshold for payouts.
