Add Brand Partners to Branded Content
This feature is only available for business and creator accounts on Instagram.
Creators can disclose their partnerships with brands in Feed, Stories, Live, Reels and IGTV videos.
Anyone who needs to disclose branded content can apply for access to the Paid Partnership Label within the app. You’ll need to meet our Partner Monetization policies before you can add brand partners to branded content on Instagram.

Before you begin:

  • You’ll need to request access to the Paid Partnership Label in order to disclose your partnership under your settings.
    Tap Creator > Branded Content > Set Up Branded Content Tools. Review eligibility requirements to onboard.
  • Your brand partner must have a professional (business or creator) profile to appear in search results when you add them to branded content.
To add brand partners to your branded content for Feed:
  1. After you've selected a photo or video and added a caption, effects and filters, tap Next.
  2. Turn the Add Paid Partnership Label toggle on .
    1. Optionally, you can post without adding a brand partner and will be prompted to Share Anyway.
  3. Tap Add Brand Partners to add the name of the business in your post.
    Note: You can select up to two brand partners whether they’ve approved you or not.
  4. You can turn the Allow Brand Partner to promote toggle on , for ads to appear. If you don’t want to promote, tap Done and then Share.
    Note: If you add more than one brand partner, your post can’t be promoted.
To add brand partners to your branded content for Stories:
  1. From Feed, tap at the top right of the screen.
  2. Once you've taken a photo or video, tap the link icon at the top of the screen.
  3. Tap Tag Business Partner to search for the business. Please keep in mind that, the business partner must have a business profile to appear in search results.
  4. Tap the name of the business you want to tag in your story.
  5. You can turn the Allow Brand Partner to promote toggle on , for ads to appear. If you don’t want to promote, tap Done and then Share.
    Note: If you add more than one brand partner, your post can’t be promoted.
To add brand partners to your branded content for Live:
  1. When you go Live, tap Details .
  2. Tap Add Brand Partners and search for the brand.
    Note: You can only add brands you have approval from.
  3. Tap the name of the brand you want to add to your Live.
To add brand partners to your branded content for Reels & IGTV videos:
  1. After you've selected a photo or video and added a caption, effects and filters, tap Next.
  2. Tap Advanced Settings.
  3. Turn the Add Paid Partnership Label toggle on.
  4. Tap Add Brand Partners and search for the brand.
  5. Tap the name of the brand you want to add to your post.
Your posts will have the Paid Partnership Label without the brand partner’s name if they haven’t approved you yet. You’ll be notified once the brand partner approves your request, and their brand name will appear on your post. If the brand denies your request, the paid partnership label will be removed from your post.
Once your post has been published, the brand partner will receive a notification. They'll also have access to the post's insights.
