We're aware of an issue where users receive an "error, invalid request" or "Please update your Instagram app to continue liking photo" message when attempting to like photos from devices using versions of Instagram lower than 2.4.1 (Apple iOS) or 1.0.5 (Android).

In order to remedy this issue, please upgrade to the latest version of Instagram in your app store.

For Apple iOS devices, these features are only supported for devices running iOS 4.0 or later. For Android devices, these features are supported on all devices.

You can search by hashtag or username by tapping the Explore tab > select Hashtags.
